As
a whistleblower who was simply trying to do my job, I have endured
backlash and retaliation from those who wish to hide the truth and
cover up fraud. Even when the FBI told me that I had no rights, the
National Whistleblowers Center (NWC) stood by me and supported my
case. As a result of the NWC's help, my case secured whistleblower
protections for all FBI employees. Those hard won protections are now
in jeopardy of disappearing as a result of a bill pending in the Senate
(S. 372). The NWC, a tireless advocate for whistleblowers like myself,
is working hard to help prevent this dangerous rollback of protections
and they need your help.

Washington, D.C. April 1, 2009. Today, the National Whistleblowers Center (NWC) joined 10 other public interest groups in urging President Obama to reaffirm his campaign commitments to strengthen whistleblower protections. The letter urged the President to strongly endorse legislation that would protect all federal employees, including national security employees, from retaliation and give them access to jury trials. The letter also asked the President to appoint a liaison to the whistleblower community as promised in his response to the NWC's campaign survey.

Your Help Is Urgently Needed For The Final Push!!!
On January 28, 2009 the House of Representatives approved the Platts-Van Hollen amendment to the stimulus package granting whistleblower protection to federal employees. Thanks to your action, House members recognized the critical role whistleblowers play in oversight and accountability and the House has approved excellent whistleblower provisions contained in the former H.R. 985. Federal employee whistleblower protections are part of the entire Stimulus Package (H.R. 1), but our work is not done. Now the battleground shifts to the Senate.

How does a $50 billion Ponzi scheme work? The Answer: when the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the federal government ignores repeated "credible and specific allegations" of fraud made by whistleblowers over the course of 9 years. Now, as reported in Times Online, Bernard Madoff, former chairman of NASDAQ, is responsible for billions of dollars worth of losses among the world's biggest financial institutions, charities, state pensions, and personal savings.Tags: Action Alerts

Washington, D.C. September 25, 2008. The Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act may soon come to the Senate floor for a vote. Although this bill includes some improvements over past whistleblower protection legislation, it remains largely powerless. Critical provisions including access to jury trials in federal courts and protection for national intelligence whistleblowers are not included in the bill.
