Washington D.C. May 11, 2011. Today at 2:00 pm EST, the Capital Market and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee of the House Committee on Financial Services will be holding a hearing on an anti-whistleblower bill proposed by Congressman Michael G. Grimm (R-NY, 3rd). The bill amends the Security Exchange Act to reverse the main whistleblower protections in the Dodd-Frank and creates unprecedented sweeping restrictions on the ability of employees to blow the whistle on corporate fraud. NWC Calls on EPA to Oust Civil Rights Director

Today, the National Whistleblowers Center released an open letter to Lisa Jackson the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regarding the racial and sexual discriminatory conduct of the newly appointed director of the EPA's Office of Civil Rights (OCR), Rafael DeLeon and calling for his immediate dismissal.

Tax Day Reminder: Biggest Tax Whistleblower in History Remains in Prison

Washington, D.C. April 18, 2011. Today, Tax Day, Bradley Birkenfeld, the whistleblower who exposed UBS bank's $20 billion illegal tax fraud scheme, is still serving his 40-month prison sentence.  Mr. Birkenfeld entered Schuylkill County Federal Correctional Institution in Minersville, Pennsylvania on January 8, 2010 and has already served over 15 months in prison.
