Senator Grassley Asks If FDA Monitored All Employees the Same as Whistleblowers
Washington, D.C. February 2, 2012. Senator Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) launched an investigation in response to a lawsuit filed by six FDA whistleblowers and documents released by the National Whistleblowers Center that show the FDA targeted whistleblowers for special monitoring and intercepted personal communications to Congress, including emails to Senator Grassley's staff.
Senator Grassley, the Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and a highly respected advocate of government oversight, launched an investigation into the FDA's targeted monitoring of whistleblowers. The Senator specifically asked FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg whether or not whistleblowers were singled out for special monitoring based on a letter they wrote to President-Elect Obama's Transition Team.

NWC Launches National Campaign to Stop Grimm Act
Washington, D.C. January 24, 2012. Today, the National Whistleblowers Center launched a national campaign against the Grimm Act (H.R. 2483). The bill, sponsored by Rep. Michael Grimm [R-NY13], systematically rolls back every whistleblower provision included in the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act. It has passed the initial mark-up and is poised for full approval.

NWC Demands Holder Investigate FBI Failures in Child Sex Crime Cases
Washington, D.C. November 22, 2011. Today, the NWC issued a letter calling for an independent investigation of child sex abuse cases that were mishandled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and FBI Director Robert Mueller.
Additionally, the NWC called upon Penn State to ensure that former FBI agents involved in the misconduct in the handling of child sex crimes within the FBI are explicitly barred from any involvement in the Penn State investigation and that former Director Louis Freeh be questioned as to his knowledge of the FBI's failures.
