Washington D.C. February 25, 2010. The National Whistleblowers Legal Defense & Education Fund will host a special seminar for members of the press and attorneys on how to spotlight whistleblowers in the media and IRS whistleblower law. The seminar will take place on April 1, 2010 at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Washington, D.C.

Speakers for the media seminar will include John Solomon, former Executive Editor of the Washington Times and former Special Correspondent at the Washington Post, Jim Popkin, former Senior Investigative producer NBC News and Stephen M. Kohn, Executive Director, National Whistleblowers Center.*

The media seminar will cover 1st amendment protections for whistleblower sources, special considerations and protections when dealing with a national security whistleblower, and how journalists and attorneys representing whistleblowers can work together to effectuate the public’s right to know.

There will also be a seminar that will cover cutting edge issues in IRS whistleblower law. This seminar will feature the attorneys of UBS whistleblower Bradley Birkenfeld, Dean A. Zerbe, former General Counsel, Senate Finance Committee, the principal Senate staffer responsible for IRS whistleblower law, and Stephen M. Kohn, Executive Director, National Whistleblowers Center.
