Bunnatine “Bunny” Greenhouse to Speak on “Ethics and the Whistleblower”
Washington, D.C.
May 10, 2010. Whistleblower Bunnatine "Bunny" Greenhouse will speak on "Ethics
and the Whistleblower" in conjunction with artist Marcia Annenberg's lecture
and exhibition "News/Not News" at Boricua College in New York City on
Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 6:00 pm EST.
Mrs. Greenhouse
will speak about her work as a public servant, and her commitment to
preserving
integrity, honesty and accountability in government contracting. Mrs.
Greenhouse stood alone in opposing the approval of a highly improper
multi-billion dollar no-bid contract to Halliburton for the
reconstruction of
Iraqi Oil. In return for her courage she was retaliated against and
removed
from her position as the Procurement Executive, the highest-ranking
civilian-contracting official at the Army Corps of Engineers. Her case
continues today.
Marcia
Annenberg's "News/Not News" exhibition features a
painting titled Portrait of Two Women, in
which Annenberg "addresses Bunnatine's courage in the face of pressure
from the
Pentagon and the Corps of Engineers, to act in a manner that compromised
the
integrity of her office." The exhibition consists of Annenberg's work
from 1981
through 2009, and will be on display at Boricua College through June 18,
2010.
Mrs. Greenhouse will be speaking in the 4th floor
gallery, at 3755 Broadway at 156th Street, New York, New
York, on
Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 6:00 pm EST.
