Federal employees are the “eyes and ears of enforcement.” However, they often suffer harsh retaliation for blowing the whistle on waste, fraud and abuse.
Currently, no whistleblower laws provide meaningful protection for all
federal employees. They are denied basic due process rights and jury
trials. They are blocked from having their case heard in court. Instead,
federal employees are forced to present their case to a politically
appointed board that is always controlled by the party that holds the
White House.
To make matters worse, hundreds of thousands of federal employees who
are entrusted to protect national security have been stripped of all
whistleblower protection – even when they make lawful disclosures to an
Inspector General or Congress.
Federal employees who risk their careers to expose misconduct are
heroes who do their best to protect the health, safety, and welfare of
all Americans. They need strong protections when they blow the whistle
