Vera English was a pioneer whistleblower in the 1980’s.  Ms. English was fired from General Electric after exposing widespread radiation contamination. Her Supreme Court case established the right of whistleblowers to pursue cases under state law.

Vera English was a pioneer nuclear whistleblower in the 1980s, whose victory in the U.S. Supreme Court (English v. General Electric) set precedent that permitted whistleblowers to obtain relief under state laws. GE fought Ms. English for over 10 years, pushing her to near bankruptcy.
