WARNING: The NWC strongly recommends that employees contact an attorney before communicating with an Inspector General. Inspectors General have a mixed reputation and some offices have retaliated against whistleblowers. Additionally, if contract fraud is at issue there are laws that may entitle a whistleblower to a reward, which are independent of a claim filed with an Inspector General.
