    • The National Whistleblower Center is sponsoring a luncheon as part of the 2014 Whistleblower Summit to commemorate National Whistleblower Appreciation Day.  In appreciation of your support, whether by Taking Action or making a Donation, the NWC cordially invites you to attend.

The luncheon will be held at the Mott House, 122 Maryland Ave., NE, Washington, D.C. 20002, on July 30 from 12:30-3pm. The luncheon is free of charge but you must RSVP by Tuesday, July 29.

National Whistleblower Appreciation Day was initiated based on the research of NWC Executive Director Stephen M. Kohn. The history behind the Founding Fathers' support of whistleblowers was buried in the records of the Continental Congress for over 200 years, and was only rediscovered as part of the research behind the book, The Whistleblower's Handbook: A Step-by-Step Guide to Doing What's Right and Protecting Yourself (3rd Ed. 2013, Lyons Press).

The NWC spearheaded last year’s campaign to have the United States Senate declare July 30  National Whistleblower Appreciation Day.  Thanks to support from the Action Alert Network, this campaign was a success. National Whistleblower Appreciation Day is a day to reflect on these past sacrifices and accomplishments and to show support for the whistleblowers of today who are fighting to defend their reputations, their jobs and their freedom after exposing lies at the highest levels of government and frauds that have robbed tax-payers and investors of countless billions.

      Please attend if you can.

Special Seminar: The NEW Corporate Whistleblower Protections and Reward Provisions

July 25th - New York, NY
      1:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT

      CLE Credit Available*

Learn how to use the new corporate whistleblower laws and regulations to effectively represent employees, combat fraud, and qualify for large whistleblower rewards.  The seminar will explain the new anti-retaliation rules governing corporate employees and the financial reward provisions that require the SEC to pay large financial awards to qualified whistleblowers.  Gain insight into how whistleblower protection laws can be integrated into your law practice as powerful legal tools for maximizing your client's ability to have their case heard before a jury and obtain entitlement to large monetary rewards.

Hear from leading whistleblower attorneys who were extensively involved in the Dodd-Frank rulemaking process.  On May 25th, the SEC adopted whistleblower rules that fundamentally changed and enhanced the right of employees to obtain legal protection and large financial rewards.  The NWC and its legal staff were extensively involved in this process.  Many of the NWC's proposals were adopted by the Commission, and the Final Rules cited to NWC formal comments forty-four times.  The new regulations will prove an invaluable asset in the representation of corporate whistleblowers.

The seminar will take place on Monday, July 25, 2011 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan in New York, NY.  The regular price for the seminar is $295 with early bird discounts (register on or before July 15th) and reduced fees for ARS members and whistleblowers.  For early bird discounts and more information, including agenda and faculty click here.
