Washington, D.C. December 23, 2010. Supporters of Bradley Birkenfeld are asking that he be granted executive clemency and released from prison on Christmas day. The National Whistleblower Center is asking supporters to contact the President and the Attorney General to arrange for Mr. Birkenfeld to be home with his family on Christmas Day.

Washington, D.C. December 20, 2010. Today, the National Whistleblowers Center (NWC) publicly released its report to the Securities and Exchange Commission entitled "Impact of Qui Tam Laws on Internal Compliance." The study analyzed cases filed under the False Claims Act from January 1, 2007 to present and found that whistleblower rewards have "no impact whatsoever on the viability of internal corporate compliance programs or the willingness of employees to report suspected violations to their employers."

Washington, D.C. December 15, 2010. Army Corps of Engineers whistleblower Bunnatine H. Greenhouse issued a statement today on the Senate version of the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act (S. 372) moving through the lame duck Congress. Ms. Greenhouse is a well-known public spokeswoman on the importance of passing stronger whistleblower protections for federal employees. She testified in support of the House version of the bill (H.R. 1507) before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on May 14, 2009. She was invited to testify in her personal capacity about the waste, fraud, and abuse she observed while serving as Procurement Executive and Principal Assistant Responsible for Contracting.
