Washington, D.C. / London | June 25, 2025. Representatives from the leading U.S. whistleblower advocacy group, the National Whistleblower Center (NWC), will be travelling to London to join the UK Whistleblowing Awareness Week, set for July 3-10, 2025. The event, organized by Whistleblowers UK and sponsored by The Rt Hon. Baroness Susan Kramer, will bring together global leaders, legal experts, whistleblowers, and policy makers to explore the future of whistleblowing in the UK and beyond.
Panels will highlight international strategies to fight crime and corruption, and what the UK and other countries can bring into their anti-corruption policies and approach to whistleblowing. Kohn, Kohn and Colapinto (KKC), a prominent U.S. whistleblower law firm, will also participate, sharing insights from their work shaping U.S. whistleblower laws and supporting global anti-corruption efforts.
“Improving UK whistleblower protections is critical,” said Stephen M. Kohn, NWC Board Chairman. “Law enforcement agencies like the Serious Fraud Office and His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), and think tanks such as the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), have recognized the critical role whistleblowers play in detecting fraud and corruption.”
Whistleblowers UK CEO, Georgina Halford-Hall, called for global backing to reform UK laws and establish an UK Office of the Whistleblower. “The UK has long been considered a thought leader when it comes to whistleblowing, but recent scandals like the Post Office Horizon case have shone a light on the reality that our whistleblowing law is broken. I am inspired by the attitude of the U.S. and the work of the team at the National Whistleblower Center to champion whistleblowers and set global standards.”
NWC and KKC representatives will participate in several key panels, including discussions on international whistleblower programs and frameworks, as well as lessons from landmark global cases. Events include:
July 3, 10:00am – 11:30am, Unique Insights from Ukraine
July 7, 4:00pm – 5:30pm, The World of Whistleblowing
July 9, 10:00am – 11:30am, What we can learn from Wirecard
July 9, 6:00pm – 7:30pm, Making Whistleblowing Work
