The Anthropocene Institute seeks to accelerate the technological and community innovations necessary to address global issues, including overfishing and ocean pollution.   The Institute’s Protected Seas Program helps ensure the long-term health of coastal waters and the High Seas by maintaining a free interactive map of Marine Protected Areas (MPA) around the world including regulatory conservation measures as a reference tool for fishermen and mariners.  The Institute’s Protected Seas MPA Map includes a link to whistleblowing mechanisms on the National Whistleblower site, as well on their MPA map.  This provides ocean users worldwide that are witness to illegal fishing and marine pollution with a mechanism by which they can then report online. By blowing the whistle, U.S. and non-U.S. mariners may be eligible for financial reward. To learn more click here.
