Sharon Eubanks, Chief Counsel at NWC, Joins U.K. Masterclass Series on Whistleblower Protections

WASHINGTON, D.C. | July 13, 2021 — On Thursday, July 15th, National Whistleblower Center’s (NWC) Chief Counsel, Sharon Y. Eubanks, will join U.K.-based commercial and trust litigation law firm Baker & Partners’ webinar, “Whistleblowing – a Force for Good or Evil?,” as part of their “Masterclass Series” on preventing, detecting, and responding to financial crime. The event is free to register and will begin at 10:30 AM EDT.

The webinar will address the personal and financial costs of blowing the whistle that many whistleblowers face when coming forward and will examine the developments in various jurisdictions around the world with regard to the enhancement of whistleblower protections and maximization of best practices in services offered to whistleblowers.

“I am so glad to join this important webinar on the power of whistleblowing, and I thank Baker & Partners for inviting me,” said NWC Chief Counsel Sharon Y. Eubanks. “Critical discussions about world whistleblower protections and best practices will lead us all towards viewing whistleblowing as a vital remedy for fraud and corruption in the global financial sector. Whistleblowing is transparency and accountability. Without whistleblowers, institutions around the world will lose a valuable edge against fraudsters,” Eubanks added.

In addition to Sharon Eubanks, the webinar will include Mary Inman of U.S. whistleblower law firm Constantine Cannon, Bobby Friedman of U.K. business law firm Wilberforce Chambers, and Barry Faudemer of Baker & Partners as chair of the session.
