WASHINGTON, D.C. | September 24, 2024 — Yesterday, National Whistleblower Center mailed surveys to the presidential campaigns of Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, asking the two candidates to state their support or opposition to key whistleblower policies and provisions. The aim of the survey was to gauge the two candidates’ support of whistleblower protections.

According to a 2020 Marist Poll commissioned by Whistleblower Network News, 86% of likely voters support stronger protections for federal employees. Furthermore, 44% of likely voters stated that a candidate’s support of stronger protections for whistleblowers would weigh into their voting decision. These results were consistent across voter demographics, geographic location, and party affiliation. Whistleblowing is an important, bi-partisan, voter issue. National Whistleblower Center’s survey aims to collect this information so that the American public can make a fully informed decision on issues that are of great importance to them.

National Whistleblower Center urges its supporters to take action by contacting the two campaigns and requesting that their candidates complete this survey. The candidates have until October 15th to submit their responses, whereafter NWC will issue a national press release, publicizing their responses.
