Members of Congress and Government Leaders to Participate in National Whistleblower Day Celebration

WASHINGTON, D.C. | July 23, 2021 — On Thursday, July 29th, the National Whistleblower Center’s (NWC) National Whistleblower Day celebration will feature government and congressional leaders who will speak in support of whistleblowers beginning at 11 AM EDT.

Thursday’s programming, “Whistleblowing Works! Government Leaders Celebrate Whistleblowers,” will feature keynote addresses from SEC Chairman Gary Gensler, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), and Department of Labor Secretary Marty Walsh from 11AM to 1PM EDT. An exclusive interview by Enron whistleblower Sherron Watkins of NWC Chairman of the Board and leading whistleblower attorney Stephen M. Kohn on the history of National Whistleblower Day will also be featured.

In addition to the keynote addresses, Representative Jackie Speier (D-CA) of the House Whistleblower Protection Caucus, Senators Ron Wyden (D-OR), Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), and Joni Ernst (R-IA) of the Senate Whistleblower Protection Caucus, NSA Inspector General Robert Storch, and former Inspector General Michael Atkinson will speak about their efforts to support whistleblowers.
