National Whistleblower Day 2021 to Host More Whistleblowers Than Ever Before

WASHINGTON, D.C. | July 23, 2021 — National Whistleblower Center’s (NWC) National Whistleblower Day event will feature the largest number of whistleblowers ever to speak at a National Whistleblower Day celebration. This collection of brave whistleblowers will speak on topics such as “Life After Whistleblowing,” “How Whistleblowers Changed The FBI,” and share intriguing stories about their experiences blowing the whistle on social media companies, government agencies, international banks, and more across three days of programming.

The celebration will feature Whistleblower Network News exclusives from high-profile whistleblowers such as Coast Guard whistleblower Kimberly Young-McLear, Peace Corp whistleblower Sara Thompson, and UBS whistleblower Bradley Birkenfeld on July 29th. Over the course of the programming, more than 100 whistleblowers will be recognized in addition to whistleblowers Ted Blickwedel (Veterans Affairs), Jacqueline Garrick (Department of Defense), Dr. Allison Gill (Veterans Affairs), Thomas le Bonniec (Apple), Robert Kobus (FBI), Ifeoma Ozoma (Pinterest), Christian Greene (Child and Family Services), Martina Buck (Veterans Affairs Healthcare), and Aaron Westrick (Second Chance Body Armor), who will tell their stories.

These whistleblowers will be celebrated on July 30th for an all-star National Whistleblower Day celebration. And FBI whistleblower and National Whistleblower Day Mistress of Ceremonies Jane Turner will interview Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA), a staunch whistleblower advocate widely known as the “patron saint of whistleblowers,” on Wednesday, July 28th at 1PM EDT.

“We are so honored to have such a wide range of courageous whistleblowers speaking at National Whistleblower Day and making history this year,” said Siri Nelson, NWC Executive Director. “The whistleblowers speaking at our celebration have something that not many people have – real life experience speaking truth to power. Make sure to get a front row seat to their incredibly intriguing stories and RSVP today!”
