National Whistleblower Day 2021 will be the largest whistleblower event ever and will include speeches and programming by whistleblowers, lawmakers, agency heads, and advocates.
WASHINGTON, D.C. | June 30, 2021 — Today marks one month until the National Whistleblower Day 2021 celebration on July 30th, 2021 hosted by the National Whistleblower Center (NWC). The virtual event will feature the largest set of programming in National Whistleblower Day history, featuring over a dozen panels comprised of more than 60 speakers from countries around the world. The event’s key themes will address global whistleblower issues in environmental, commodities, and tech industries.
This year’s celebration will feature keynote remarks by SEC Chairman Gary Gensler, Senators Charles Grassley and Jackie Speier of the Senate Whistleblower Protection Caucus. Speakers in attendance will include:
- Whistleblowers Rebekah Jones (Florida Dept. of Health), Jane Turner (FBI), Kimberly Young-McLear (Coast Guard), Sara Thompson (Peace Corps), Bradley Birkenfeld (UBS), Dr. Allison Gill (Veterans Affaris), and Thomas le Bonniec (Apple);
- Chairman of the SEC Gary Gensler, NSA Inspector General Robert Storch, OSC Special Counsel Henry Kerner, DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, and DOL OSHA Whistleblower Protection Program Acting Director Anthony Rosa;
- Former DOJ Inspector General Michael Atkinson and former SEC Commissioner Robert Jackson;
- Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Ron Wyden (D-WI), Joni Ernst (R-IA), Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) of the Senate Whistleblower Protection Caucus;
- Jackie Speier (D-CA) and Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY) of the House Whistleblower Protection Caucus alongside Rep. John Garamendi (D-CA); and
- Whistleblower attorney Mark Zaid, attorney Neil Henrichsen of Henrichsen Law Group P.L.L.C., and Professor of Economics at the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics Giancarlo Spagnolo.
