National Whistleblower Day 2021 will be the largest whistleblower event ever and will include speeches and programming by whistleblowers, lawmakers, agency heads, and advocates.
WASHINGTON, D.C. | June 17, 2021— Representative Jackie Speier (D-CA) is confirmed to speak at the all-day National Whistleblower Day 2021 event hosted by the National Whistleblower Center (NWC) on July 30th, 2021. She will address the National Whistleblower Day celebration in a video presentation alongside other policymakers, whistleblower experts, whistleblowers, and their advocates, including SEC Chair Gary Gensler and Senator Charles Grassley.
Rep. Speier, a tireless whistleblower advocate and co-chair of the House Whistleblower Protection Caucus, championed such whistleblower protection legislation as the COVID-19 Whistleblower Protection Act, which was introduced February 4th, 2021 to protect whistleblowers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rep. Speier has sponsored multiple resolutions over the years to express Congressional support for the designation of July 30th as “National Whistleblower Appreciation Day.”
