National Whistleblower Day Whistleblower Bootcamp on Thursday, July 29th

National Whistleblower Day 2021 will be the largest whistleblower event ever. This year’s celebration will span three days from July 28 to July 30, highlighting intriguing whistleblower stories, useful resources, and high-profile speakers.

WASHINGTON, D.C. | July 22, 2021 — One week from today, National Whistleblower Center (NWC) will host a virtual “Whistleblower Bootcamp” on Thursday, July 29th. The Bootcamp will provide a day of informational panels and speeches on a wide range of whistleblowing topics. Bootcamp attendees will gain important skills and better understand whistleblower law through a series of exclusive interviews, panels, and whistleblower stories. The programming is part of a free three-day virtual event celebrating and leading up to National Whistleblower Day, which is on Friday, July 30th.

The July 29th programming begins at 10AM EDT and will include an exclusive interview with Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), whistleblower stories from Whistleblower Network News featuring Peace Corps whistleblower Sara Thompson, Coast Guard whistleblower Kimberly Young-McLear, Veterans Affairs whistleblower Allison Gill, remarks from top government officials and leading whistleblower attorneys, and “how to” resources on an array of topics, including wildlife and social media whistleblowing. Over the course of the programming, more than 100 whistleblowers will be recognized.

Speakers at the Bootcamp will include former Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Atkinson, OSC Special Counsel Henry Kerner, NSA Inspector General Robert Storch, and whistleblower attorney Mark Zaid, who represented the Ukraine whistleblower, with special remarks from National Whistleblower Day’s Mistress of Ceremonies Jane Turner and NWC Executive Director Siri Nelson.
