WASHINGTON, D.C. | August 2, 2021 — Siri Nelson, National Whistleblower Center (NWC) Executive Director, spoke with radio host Tavis Smiley on KBLA’s, “Tavis Smiley,” discussing the history of whistleblowing, whistleblower protections in the U.S. and around the world, and celebrating whistleblowers at National Whistleblower Day 2021. The episode aired on Friday, July 30th at 12 PM ET and is now available to listen to, here.

In the interview, NWC’s Siri Nelson said, “We have whistleblowers to thank for our democracy and our freedoms – that’s their legacy. They protect everything we care about…They are the ones who believe in the values that we all agree with, they are the ones who are looking out for wrongdoing and making sure people are following the rules that we all agree with. Without them, there are so many things we would not know about.”
