WASHINGTON, D.C. | August 1, 2025 – The U.S. Senate passed a resolution designating July 30, 2025 as “National Whistleblower Appreciation Day.”

The resolution was introduced by Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) and passed with unanimous consent by the Senate.

“National Whistleblower Appreciation Day” recognizes the history of support for whistleblowers by the Founding Fathers and members of the Continental Congress during the early beginnings of our nation.

It also acknowledges the importance of whistleblowers as they “save the taxpayers of the United States billions of dollars each year and serve the public interest by ensuring that the United States remains an ethical and safe place.”

On July 30th, 2025, the National Whistleblower Center hosted National Whistleblower Day to honor and celebrate whistleblowers across the nation.

We urge supporters to take action in making National Whistleblower Day permanent – to mandate that all federal agencies honor the day, provide whistleblower training to their employees, and celebrate the contributions that whistleblowers have made to democracy and society.
