Lisa Belanger exposed the exploitation of elders and other handicapped adults via the Massachusetts Probate and Family Courts, which included wrongdoing by private attorneys, court-appointed attorneys, fiduciaries, and judges. In retaliation for blowing the whistle, attorneys involved in the wrongdoing filed bar charges against Belanger in an attempt to strip her of her license to practice law. See Gov.
